Eliza Street, Dundee

Eliza Street consists of 40 units; 36 flats and 4 semi-detached homes, including two ground floor wheelchair flats. This is a Greener Homes Innovation project with a ‘fabric first’ approach, paying attention to the insulated building envelope. Greener Homes fuel savings are 32% for the flats, and an impressive 69% for the semi-detached houses.

The buildings are ‘fabric first’ Silver Aspect 1 & 2. These homes have enhanced thermal performance and have realised a 21% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. The low maximum demand for space heating is 40 kWh/m2 for the houses and 30 kWh/m2 for the flats.

Full M&E Design, mechanical services included incoming gas supply to meters at all dwellings, internal gas to boilers and cookers, heating distribution, ventilation, thermal insulation, dry risers, above ground drainage, mains water supply, cold water service within flats. Electrical services included incoming electrical supplies, low voltage distribution and switchgear, sub-mains distribution, power installation, lighting installation, emergency lighting, security systems, intercom systems, telephone systems, data systems, fire alarm systems and lightning protection.
