with 23 high-quality sheltered homes, including a two-bedroom home for a wheelchair user, the development illustrated North Ayrshire Council’s commitment to provide high quality, affordable accommodation that meets current and future requirements.

The complete upgrade and refurbishment included new kitchens, shower rooms, windows, fittings and central heating upgrades, water services, accessible wet-floor shower rooms which promoted independence and remodelling of the tenants communal lounge with a shared accessible kitchen with cooking facilities and hydro tap.

Upgrading of the building took place while fully occupied and works had to be phased in such a way disruption to tenants was minimal and required existing and new heating systems to run in tandem until final apartment handover.
